How to get your Shopify products into ChatGPT

Updated 2 August 2026

There is no submission form and nothing to buy. Eligible Shopify products are syndicated automatically. The work is making sure yours are eligible, and then making them the ones worth naming.

Step one: stop being excluded

Nothing else matters until this is clean. Check for zero prices, missing images, unpublished products, Unlisted status and the seo.hidden flag. These are pass-or-fail.

  • Every product has a title and at least one image
  • Every product has a price above zero
  • Every product is published to a storefront channel
  • No product you want recommended is Unlisted or hidden from search engines
  • Your storefront is not password protected

Step two: make matching possible

Fill the fields Shopify names: type, vendor, collections, tags, barcode and real variant option names. Write descriptions that mention the attributes shoppers actually ask about rather than restating the title.

Step three: publish policies

Assistants reference your refund, privacy and terms pages when a shopper asks how you operate. Unpublished policies mean the assistant cannot vouch for you at the moment of decision.

Step four: measure, then repeat

Ask buying questions from your category and count how often you are named. Catalogs drift after every bulk import and theme change, so this is maintenance rather than a project.

Check your own catalog

Endcap runs every check in this guide and shows you which products fail, and why.
